Snippet Cover - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ Neon Cathedral, feat. Allen Stone

Macklemore’s got this thing going where you want to be sort of annoyed with him because he just doesn’t really give off a rapper vibe, but then you can’t be annoyed, cause his words hit you where it hurts. I’ve been into Allen Stone for a couple years now, so to hear him on a Macklemore track made my ears happy, then listening to the rest of the track made my head hurt. I love the vision that he attaches to his lyrics. Macklemore will definitely be on my radar here on out.

As for this song…it’s stuck in my head. So, I have to get it out.

Snippet Cover- Needtobreathe’s Something Beautiful

Oh Needtobreathe, how I love thee. Seriously though, this song is the one that initially won me over to Needtobreathe. I had heard one or two songs and weren’t feeling them very much, and then I heard this and put it on repeat. From there, I just couldn’t stop! Song after song, their musicality just blew my mind. And how fun they made even their serious songs.

So, obviously, I’m a huge fan. And this song means a lot to me. Wanting “something beautiful” is what I think alot of people strive for. Beautiful family, beautiful possessions, beautiful relationships, beautiful legacy, beatiful 7-digit paycheck. Whatever’s the most beautiful gets you going each day. So, when I think of that, I think of this song.

Then, it get’s stuck in my head. So, I have to get it out.

Cover Snippet - John Legend’s Ordinary People

One listen. That’s all I need for this to be stuck in my head for weeks. Years old and I never get tired of it. Something about breaking down an argument to the basic fact that we are human. We can’t get it right just cause we’re humans and we kind of suck, but maybe we can figure it out.

And the piano is the best. I know there’s alot that could be done, but there’s not really anything fancy going on, it’s just smooth enough to make you feel warm inside and driving enough to keep you engaged.

All that beauty got stuck in my head. So, I had to get it out.

The first 15 (rough estimate) times I heard this, the first line really turned me off. But, after kind of being forced to listen to it a few times, it started to grow on me, then it was stuck in my head, then I realized that it’s actually really beautiful, it was mostly the beat that was weird for me.

I think I’m a fan of it, because it’s just so simple. It has all this stuff going on in the background, but the lyrics are just plainly “I love you, let that make you even more beautiful.”

3wks later, it’s stuck in my head. So, I had to get it out.
